Meet Christie Hawkins

Artist. Creative Coach. Founder of The Social Easel

Hey, I’m Christie!
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember, but my true calling is helping women who think they “aren’t creative” learn how to paint with confidence and joy.

In 2013, I started teaching in-person paint parties right here in my hometown. I saw women walk in saying “I’m not artistic” — and leave with a smile, a painting they were proud of, and a spark of something new.

What began around a table with a few friends grew into something I never could have dreamed. In 2018, I launched my Tribe — and this fall, we’ll be celebrating 8 incredible years together!

Over that time, Tribe has become so much more than just painting tutorials. It’s a place where women from all over the world come together to:

🎨 Learn how to paint step-by-step (even as beginners!)
🖌️ Build real art skills and techniques they can use in any painting
💬 Form meaningful friendships with like-minded, creative women
💗 Be encouraged, supported, and reminded that their joy matters

When I created Tribe, I wanted it to be a positive, faith-filled space where women could slow down, take time for themselves, and rediscover the creative spark God placed inside them. That’s exactly what it’s grown into — and more.

I’ve also had the honor of partnering with DecoArt, one of the most trusted names in the art industry. I have created several custom sets with them that we use in all my lessons and it has been a dream come true to curate a line of paints that I know will help you create beautiful art!

But no matter how far this journey has taken me, my heart is still right here — helping women like you say:

“I didn’t think I could do this… but look what I just painted!”
